Abstract
Contract caterer Aramark has received eight Healthyliving Awards at its food service sites across Scotland.

The awards recognise caterers in Scotland who make it easier for their customers to eat healthily, by using healthier ingredients and food preparation methods, and through clear communication of their healthy eating alternatives.  Funded by the Scottish Government, they form an integral part of its drive to combat obesity.

Award recipients are judged on keeping the levels of saturated fat, salt and sugar in food to a minimum, and having a sales promotion and marketing strategy which supports healthier eating.

The awards were given to the Aramark teams working across a wide range of business at both onshore and offshore locations including Centrica Upstream in Aberdeen, the Ninian South Platform in the North Sea, Allied Bakeries in Glasgow, Scottish and Southern Energy in Cumbernauld, NCR Financial Solutions in Dundee, Pyramids Business Park in Bathgate, West Lothian, and two Petrofac sites, one in Montrose, the other in Aberdeen.

Mike Ball, regional managing Director for Aramark in Scotland, said: “The awards give our customers confidence that their food is prepared with their health in mind and that we’ve focused on making their food not just tasty, but better for them too.

“There is a growing demand from people for healthier food and our customers are acutely aware of the link between diet and well-being. The Healthyliving Awards show that Aramark can meet this need for a wide range of people working in different environments, from oil platforms to offices.”
