Apetito becomes accredited Living Wage employer
Abstract
The food provider to the health and social care sector, Apetito, has become an accredited Living Wage employer.

Accredited Living Wage employers pay staff the voluntary rate of £8.25, higher than the mandatory National Living Wage of £7.20, which came into force in April.

Paul Freeston, chief executive, said: “Our mission at apetito is to “make a real difference” and that means embedding principles that support our customers, our supply chain, and crucially, our work-force.

“Supporting the accredited Living Wage is quite simply the right way to do business; it improves our employees’ quality of life, but also benefits our business and society as a whole.”

As part of the accreditation, the company has also announced plans to ensure all its contractors adhere to the new voluntary pay-rate.
