Abstract
Latest research reveals that 53% of Brits spend more than £5 on their lunch every day – equating to nearly a month’s salary across the year.

Of the 1,000+ people surveyed, 18–24 year olds were found to be the biggest spenders, with 35% admitting to spending on average more than £7 on lunch every day. 63% of 45-54 year olds spend less than £5 daily, whilst 72% of Irish spend more than £6.

The research was commissioned by YouGov on behalf of high-street bar Slug and Lettuce, whose senior marketing manager, Samantha Maynard commented: “It’s really interesting to see the amount that people are willing to spend on their lunch every day. As a bar serving food, we are always looking at ways to make our customer experience even better."
