Abstract
The 2019 Quality Food and Drink Awards are now open, marking its 40th anniversary year with its ‘biggest’ campaign to-date.

Spanning the entire sector, the annual awards “celebrate innovation and creativity in the food and drink sector today” and are open to retailers, wholesalers, foodservice, own label and branded producers.

They include a broad range of categories, such as bakery, breakfast products, snacks, and the newly created vegan category.

Also open are the seasonal Christmas Quality Food and Drink Awards, and Small Producer Quality Food and Drink Awards, which looks to name the country’s small producer of the year.

Quality Food Awards publishing director, Helen Lyons, said: “From humble beginnings in 1979, these awards have grown to become not just an industry staple but a barometer of success for countless retailers, wholesalers and producers.

“The prestigious quality mark sends a clear signal to consumers that this is a product worth buying - one that has been independently scrutinised by some of the best judges in the business.

“I urge retailers, wholesalers and foodservice operators to enter into the Quality Food and Drink Awards today, and earn a badge of honour with far reaching long-term commercial benefits.”

Winners will be announced 22 November during the Quality Food and Drink Awards ceremony at The Brewery (London).

Every finalist (regardless if they win) will receive a report from consumer research specialist, Vypr, with all producers shortlisted for the Small Producer Quality Awards to receive support and advice too.
