The Smithfield pub has opened at London Luton Airport’s redeveloped terminal in what is the largest investment in TRG Concessions’ history.

The Smithfield is expected to serve over one million passengers a year and generate £150 million revenue through its ten-year contract life.

Nick Ayerst, managing director of TRG Concessions said: “The Smithfield shows TRG Concessions’ ambition to give LLA’s rapidly growing passenger audience the ultimate pub experience before their flight.

“The new pub will occupy a prime location in the terminal and we look forward to welcoming all who visit for years to come.”

The pub, which has been fitted with flight display boards and zoned seating areas, specialises in real ales and has its own Golden IPA brewed exclusively for the pub by Greene King brewery.

The kitchen opens at 3am with its menu influenced by the famous London meat market with which it shares its name.

The new 7,000sq ft. pub and kitchen is part of the airport’s £110m transformation project.

Rupert Lawrie, commercial director at LLA, said: “We’re delighted to welcome The Smithfield as the latest addition to our strong line-up of F&B brands joining LLA.”
