The team at the new Leon in Paddington
07/07/2017 - 07:00
Healthy fast food chain Leon is opening its 50th restaurant at Paddington Station, and the second in its partnership with travel catering specialist SSP.

The partners signed a deal in 2016 under which Leon is bringing its fast food to additional new sites in railway stations across the UK.
John Vincent, Leon co-founder and chief executive said, “We have always said we want to be there when people need us, and travelling makes you tired and hungry.

Paddington travellers can now leave their marmalade sandwiches at home and fill up with tasty Leon food instead.”
The restaurant will be open Monday to Friday 7am-10pm, Saturday 8am-10pm and Sunday 9am-9pm and will offer a 20% discount to National Rail staff.

To celebrate the restaurant will be giving away casserole dishes to 50 of its most loyal customers. Each restaurant team will be allowed to pick their lucky winner and gift them their cookware on the spot.
In addition, the first 50 customers to the new Paddington restaurant will get a free breakfast and the Leon team will also be on the station concourse to give away free ice lollies.
The new restaurant, opened with the help of franchise partners SSP, is situated in the balcony area and has seating inside and out, dedicated toilets and free wifi.

The restaurant has opened just as the chain unveils its new summer menu, with dishes such as a south Indian spiced fish dish, in a mild coconut and turmeric sauce; a Coronation-ish chicken salad, made with a creamy spiced tomato dressing; a new vegan-friendly falafel wrap, a halloumi and smashed avocado burger and pots of avocado hummus.

At breakfast, it will serve they hash brown bites, crispy unused fries of yesterday that have been smashed up with an egg and baked for today. These will be included in the new Big Breakfast Box, also available in Paddington, which includes bacon, gluten free sausage, poached eggs, sliced avocado, beans, grilled mushrooms, and hash brown bites.

The new restaurant will also serve Leon regular dishes such as meatballs, the fish finger wrap and the original 'super salad'.
