Independent caterer, Graysons, has landed a five-year contract worth in excess of £4million for The National Archives (TNA).

The TNA receives 80,000 visitors a year, and it will manage all of the public-facing cafes, the onsite restaurant, staff restaurant and the hospitality and events services from the beginning of October.

Simona Oproiu, business development director for Graysons, said: “The National Archives is a superb cultural destination which makes for a perfect fit into our portfolio of visitor attractions across London.

“We are really excited to reinvigorate all things food and drink at TNA, making it a proud staple of local residents, researchers and tourists alike. We will be introducing seasonal food at its best which celebrates all the wonderful produce that Richmond borough has to offer.”

Graysons, which has 550 staff on site, will transform TNA’s public facing food and drink reputation as well as working in partnership with the organisation to create an external event market for the venue.

Mark Newman, head of estates and facilities at TNA, said: “The investment, design plans and menus Graysons have put forward will contribute to the excellent visitor experience here at The National Archives.

“Throughout the whole tender process , Graysons has shows a huge passion for our heritage and we look forward to a close and exciting partnership.”
