  • Frozen Brand of the Year - Birds Eye
  • Retail Supplier of the Year - New England Seafood International
  • MSC University of the Year  -
University of Nottingham
  • Chef of the Year - Mitch Tonks (Seahorse restaurant, Dartmouth)
  • Special Achievement Award - Scottish Fisheries Sustainable Accreditation Group (SFSAG)
  • Newcomer of the Year  - The Reel Fish Co.
  • Best Innovator Award - The Southern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (Southern IFCA)

Commercial officer Loren Hiller commented: “As one of the first universities to offer sustainable seafood to their students since 2012, it’s fantastic to see the University of Nottingham winning the University of the Year award for the second year running.

“Nottingham has demonstrated its commitment to supporting sustainable fishing and safeguarding seafood supplies, meaning their students can be sure they are making a sustainable choice every time they choose a fish dish with the Blue Fish label.”

The awards also revealed that millennials are ‘leading the way’ in sustainable seafood, with 52% of 18-34 year olds claiming to prefer to choose eco-labelled fish and seafood compared to 37% of those over 55 in the UK.
